I hear the cool-ass strains of The Heavy's "Short Change Hero" and I know it's time for another season of Strike Back. For the completists, Season 3 is known in the United Kingdom as Strike Back: Shadow Warfare. To them British viewers, this Season 3 is actually Season 4 (or Series 4). Cinemax doesn't count the actual first season (that starred Richard Armitage) because the cable network didn't get involved with co-producing the show until Series 2 (which was then promptly re-labeled as Season 1).

I liked season one pretty much but season two seemed to drop off in the story department. Things were stretched pretty thin and were fleshed out with more action. Season three has gotten the series back on track.

Here's the scoop. A mid-eastern terrorist group has been working on a weapons version of smallpox. They have a team in place that will release this in various places and some huge number of people. So....it's up to section 20 to thwart the effort.

This has all the the earmarks of the first two season. Scott and Stonebridge in dicey situations. Down to the second saves. Heavy duty sex/nudity and Scott dropping the F bomb pretty much all the time. But here the plot is much more intricate. The Kamali character is still a mystery. Whose side is he on? And every time the near objective is close at hand, something (or someone) puts it out of reach so, of course, it will come down to a tight finish.

The plot moves at an even pace. The action scenes...

I have seen episodes on HBO and own seasons 1 and 2 and it is really an awesome series. When I first started viewing season one I had to buy it and season 2 and am waiting not patiently for the 3rd season. I have hundreds of DVD's but this show is my favorite of all. It is full of action, the scene locations are excellent, the actors are excellent and there are never a dull moment. I was and am very impressed with the story lines, the combat scenes and the detail used in armament and life like fire fights and the quality used in making the show. Absolutely well done and I give it 5 stars because I cannot rate it higher. I hope this review is helpful to you.

Only through the dogged efforts of her mother (Julia Ormond), who was told that "lack of bonding" with her child might have caused the autism, did Grandin learn to speak; to go to high school, college, and grad school; and to become a highly productive scientist, enduring the cruel taunts of her classmates and the resistance of many of the adults in her life (most of whom are shown as either narrow-minded prigs or macho, chauvinist jerks). Her lack of social skills and sometimes violent reactions to the overstimulation in her environment made it tough to fit in, to say the least. Danes, who is in nearly every scene of director Mick Jackson's film, is remarkable, embodying Grandin's various idiosyncrasies (such as talking, too loud, too fast, and too much) without resorting to caricature. Jackson does a marvelous job of depicting not only her actual accomplishments (among other things, she took the "squeeze machine" created to "gentle" upset cattle and adapted it for herself, using it to replace the hugs she never got as a child; later on, she revolutionized the systems used to prepare cows for slaughter, as well as the design of the slaughterhouses themselves), but also her more abstract talents, especially the extraordinary visual acuity that enables her to remember virtually everything she's ever seen. This is mostly Danes's film, but the whole cast is top-notch, especially Ormond, Catherine O'Hara as Temple's aunt, and David Strathairn as one of the few teachers who saw Grandin's potential. I am autistic, high functioning, like Temple Grandin is, as well as being a visual thinker. It is often very hard to explain to people in words what it is like, or why it's hard for me to do somethings NTs (neurotypicals or nonautistics for those that don't know) have no issues with, or why somethings bother me severely. I usually get reactions that just being lazy or whining over nothing, when it's much more than that.

This film accurately captures what it is like for me, at least. (Autism is extremely diverse, and what's true for one autistic won't be true for all) And I finally have something I can show my friends and family and point to and say "This is what I've been trying to explain."

Beyond the fact that I can simply relate to much of experiences and difficulties (at least in relation to autism), this film is extremely well made, and highly recommended. It is highly enjoyable and entertaining to watch regardless of whether or not you you have any...

Temple is old enough where her life and contributions might have been diverted into a dark place of institutional placements. The movie did a wonderful job of showing her strengths and weaknesses (smacking a teasing bully who deserved it). Yet, that alone could have brought her significant, negative attention with a corresponding nasty outcome. It was clear that people who saw her gifts allowed Temple the thrills and satisfaction of self expression. Her ability to see things normal brains do not see is extraordinary to learn about. The changes in her chosen (cattle) industry were significant because she saw the world so differently. Things done a certain way for decades and decades take a very powerful force to cause change. As a society we stopped institutionalization for people with differences. One wonders how many...

My husband and I watched this movie last night for the first time. We are as different as night and day but this movie had both of us riveted from beginning to end. It opens up the door to a wealth of insight on autism. Once I finished the movie I did some internet research on Temple Grandin and was blown away at how one person's life experiences can have such an impact in the world. I am so excited to share this movie with my children. It will be one more teaching tool to show them how important it is to embrace all people simply because they are people. As Temple's mother is quoted in the movie as saying, "She is different, not less." What a great life lesson to pass on to both young and old in this world.

A Break from Form... But That's OK! *SPOILER FREE*
First of all, this is not like any season of True Blood you've ever watched before. I've been watching since way back when season one aired and have watched every season at least two or three times. Like many of you, I've always found myself enthralled by the tight plots, dynamic characters, and sharp dialogue. Season 7 was incredibly different than ones from the past... But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I think the reason that season 7 is so different is because it is heavily character driven, whereas the previous seasons have been more plot driven. True Blood season 7 (TB7) really digs deep into our favorite characters' inner psyches and fleshes out how they have grown and changed throughout the years. Due to this more character-oriented storyline, a lot of the action seen in past seasons is lost, replaced with more dialogue, character development, and personal reflection. I know this upset some fans (I myself was a bit perturbed by it at times), but, looking back...

Imagine you had a favorite pair of jeans. You loved them so much but they became tattered (and not in a good way). You tried to sew them but the best you could do is put patches on them, ugly patches. These were still your jeans but not the same. This is how I see how the writers botched up our beloved series. They kept putting ugly patches on True Blood. It was still recognized as True Blood but a horrible version.
After barely keeping up with Season 6, I watched Season 7 as a chore I felt I had to do. Surprisingly, I liked the first few episodes and then it all fell apart. Why did we have to go back to Taraville? Who cares about the Reverend or Tara's mother? Wasn't their story all sewn up? Why was so much time spent on Jessica and Hoyt? Jason? Snore. Sara Newlin? What a huge disappointment

When Alan Ball left after Season 5, I remained optimistic that the show would still be entertaining and full of my favorite characters. Season 6 was enjoyable, and then came this. What a *huge* let down. I have every single season on DVD, but I will never buy this one. I never want to watch it again. It was boring, they killed characters off for no reason that made sense to the plot. What made it worse was the writers spent all this time on new characters and unimportant side characters. I didn't care about Adilyn and Wade's story or Tara's mom. They retconned several things (for one, Tara's mom had an affair with Rev Daniels, that is how they began, but they rewrote their relationship as being some pure, romantic, sweet thing).

I have always been an Eric fan, but I also liked Bill. By the end, I wanted to scream, just die already! They made this last season so full of insufferable angst, it was painful to watch. They squandered Lafayette. They...
