Marvel Studios unleashes the next global phenomenon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- MARVEL'S AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Good intentions wreak havoc when Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) unwittingly creates Ultron (James Spader), a terrifying A.I. monster who vows to achieve "world peace" via mass extinction. Now Iron Man, Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) -- alongside Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) -- must reassemble to defeat Ultron and save mankind...if they can! This action-packed adventure is a mind-blowing blast!

Review :
Frustratingly Flawed, Still Entertaining
Age of Ultron plays the same basic game as the first Avengers film--it is a team-up spectacle designed to play with group dynamics and mostly, just be a lot of fun. And it works, if not as well as its predecessor. The primary downgrade is that the charming humor of the original is mostly missing. That is not because the story is darker (it is) but because many of the would-be witty dialogue just does not land as well. Overall, the film seems a bit confused about itself, and as others have mentioned, the rumored three-hour director's cut would presumably clear things up. As is, it is kind of a mess, but the story is ambitious, the characters familiar and the fictional world still engrossing. As far as entertainment goes, if you enjoyed The Avengers, you will basically get a second dose of that enjoyment from Age of Ultron.

Beyond the general review, I have to express my deep disappointment with the titular villain, Ultron. The Ultron in the film is simply not the menacing...
In some ways better than the original, and in some not.
To say that this sequel is bigger and badder than the original in virtually every way is not an understatement. "Age of Ultron" boasts more villains, more heroes, more action, and a far weightier tone than "The Avengers". While "The Avengers" was hampered by its origin story format and an incredibly slow first 20" "Ultron" is able to burst out of the gates with the heroes gathering and quickly storming the (literal) castle. We're also introduced to our first villains, Baron von Strucker and "the twins". The movie is dense with plot in its first act, especially in how Ultron is created, and it may make some people's heads spin. Also, with so many floating pieces/ characters to balance out and give each their due time (though it does give each of the characters their own moments and balances their screen time quite well), it ends up feeling like there are a bit too many moving pieces.

Aside from the first movie having going...
Marvel Just Keeps Getting Better
Avengers: Age of Ultron was an excellent movie. I would absolutely recommend taking the time to see it, especially if you happen to be a fan of the Marvel movies that have been released to date.
I've seen a lot of mixed reviews, the complaints mostly focusing on the fact that there was a lot of story and a great deal of activity shoved into a package that was just shy of two and a half hours. Maybe it's because I spent a lot of my life reading comic books, but I didn't feel at all like the narrative was rushed or unevenly paced at all. Personally I felt that there was a terrific balance between well choreographed action and well-written character development...though I might have liked to see a little bit more of the story dedicated to The Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver depending on how it was managed. The introduction of those three characters was fantastic though, and I thoroughly loved the change in dynamics that they forced upon the existing Avengers.
One of the...
