Review :
No action star like Jackie Chan

No action star like Jackie Chan. Love this one with it's plot twists. He just proves he just doesn't do action comedy but drama as well. The wife loves it as well, had her in tears by the end of the film.

Jackie Chan As You Have Never Seen
If you expect to see a usual Jackie Chan movie with slap stick scenes and to chuckle through out this movie this is not it. This was a side of Jackie Chan's acting that is seen so little and that is only if drama is called to move the movie along. This was a Who Done It type of movie where all are gather to name the killer. The Martial Arts fighting was as usual top shelf and well thought out and practiced (see the out takes of miscues). Jackie play a police officer in China (the movie is in Chinese with sub-titles) that has spent a number of years with a heavy duty regret sitting upon his shoulders about his wife and daughter. Even though there was very little scenes of humor there are some to lighten the mood, the drama was thick and on going from being to end of Police Story: Lockdown. Jackie really surprised me because I never thought of him as actor that was able to do scenes of drama on a study bases. This movie is safe to watch with the whole family which some viewers may take...
Film follows the character Zhong Wen (Chan) as he meets ...
Film follows the character Zhong Wen (Chan) as he meets up with his estranged daughter in a nightclub. Little does he know it is a trap where digging deep into his past is the only way to figure out how to save everyone.

This is the natural progression of how to do a Police Story film with an aged Jackie Chan. I found the dramatic aspects of the situation compelling but I found the way that story was told to be interesting, but took away from the momentum of the film itself. Kudos for trying something different though!
