It will be revealed that their leader is one Sergei Michnev, an old friend of Ziva David's half-brother Ari, and Sergei wants revenge on Gibbs. The chase through the forest is quite exciting. Great suspense for a good season opener, and this one will generate recurring danger for the team throughout the season.

Awesome different start for NCIS because of a lack of a cliff-hanger from Season 11. Still keeping the NCIS machine in top form. Spoiler alert: did not like the team split and sad ending for the IT Guy, who I thought had character possibilities untapped. Overall a winner episode. Good start, Great job!! Looking forward to more episodes in Season 12!!

For Folks Who Rarely Go to Movies
This was the second Thomas Hardy book I read as a teenager ("Return of the Native" was the first). Wessex, his fictitious part of England, was as real to me as Sussex or Dorset, and a headstrong woman as the protagonist was right down my alley.

Working from Hardy's novel, screenwriter David Nicholls has provided director Thomas Vinterberg ("The Hunt") with an elegant and accessible interpretation, which, along with cinematography by Charlotte Bruus Christensenan, gives us a luminous film with lovely, lovely scenes.

We watch:
* Carey Mulligan ("The Great Gatsby") as Bathsheba Everdene; she is an intelligent, independent woman who has to choose among three suitors. This lovely actress is capable of gentle subtlety, so Bathsheba is both sincere and irresistible and we want the very best for her.
* Michael Sheen ("Masters of Sex") is William Boldwood, a shy, well-established local businessman who becomes the target of...
A beautiful movie...
Thomas Hardy's classic novel "Far from the Madding Crowd" has been beautifully rendered in this 2015 movie. It stars Carey Mulligan as Bathsheba Everdene, a proud and independent young woman who insists on running the farm she inherits from an uncle. She will be wooed by three men: Gabriel Oak, a strong and honest shepherd; William Boldwood, a wealthy older man; and Frank Troy, a dashing and dangerous soldier. Her relationship with each man will come to a critical point at a Christmas dance, a well-stage scene that is one of the highlights of the movie.

The storyline of the novel has obviously been compressed, but the movie captures all the essentials of the plot in a wonderfully executed period piece, much of it filmed on location in Dorset. The cinematography may worth the price of admission all by itself, finding all the rich hues in the landscape and in character costumes. The story is reordered from the book in just a few places to save certain revelations till near the end and emphasize romantic situations. The original novel is actually quite short so this is a rare instance where the movie actually has a chance to develop some aspects more than the print. I reread the book and re-watched the 1967 classic at the same time and have left a few impressions at the end of this review. This adaptation emphasizes some themes more for modern audiences while minimizing others. For instance, female strength is emphasized more here...

A fun "Fantastic Voyage" update!
I'm a big fan of this film. BIG fan. It struck a chord with me back in 1987, and I love it to this day.

It's a Joe Dante film, with early performances by Dennis Quaid, Martin Short and Meg Ryan.

It's goofier than all get out; here's the synopsis.

Dennis Quaid is a loose cannon test pilot with a bit of an alcohol problem, who gets "demoted" to a secret military program involving miniaturization. He is to be shrunk down, along with a mini-submarine, and injected into a lab rabbit, to test things like the ability to hook up to a host's optic or auditory nerve.

Meg Ryan plays a reporter, romantically involved with Quaid, but for the moment, estranged.

Martin Short plays a hypochondriac supermarket assistant manager.

So, Quaid gets shrunk right before "the bad guys" (led by an over-the-top Kevin McCarthy) invade the laboratory, and in his last act as a living person, the escaping lead investigator injects the microscopic...
That Little Voice Inside of You

I thought this was a harmless little comedy version of "Fantastic Voyage", quite cute. Pilot Dennis Quaid gets shrunk down to be injected into a rabbit, but goofy Martin Short gets in the way of the hypo. So Quaid has to navigate his way around Short and make up with his girlfriend Meg Ryan at the same time, through Short. But there are nasty evildoers trying to stand in the way of all this getting accomplished, most notably Kevin McCarthy of "Body Snatchers" fame from the 1950s. He and his female accomplice also get squirted with some of the miniaturizing stuff, but merely become little midgets battling it out in a car. That was a great silly moment.
Listen to that little voice, and laugh a lot at "Innerspace".

A Great Sci-Fi/Comedy From The Creators of Gremlins!
Hey, movie viewers! If you liked Gremlins, you MUST see this great 1987 film! It is about a ex-Lieutenant of the U.S. Marines, Tuck Pendleton (Dennis Quaid, Any Given Sunday), who is the subject of a minaturization experiment, which requires 2 microchips. He gets inside a submersible pod, is minaturized down to a microscopic size, placed in a syringe, and is supposed to be injected into a bunny named BUGS!! However, a bunch of criminals, disguised as phone repairmen, break into the laboratory and steal one of the chips. But, a good friend of Tuck's who works at the lab, Ozzie, takes the syringe, runs off, is chased to a mall, and shot. Fortunately, he lives long enough to run into a nerdy hypochondriac named Jack (Martin Short, Primetime Glick), and injects Tuck into him. Later on, Tuck finds out he is in a man, then establishes contact with Jack by placing an amplifier in his ear, and attaches a camera to his eye to see what Jack sees, and tells him what is going on and that...

I hear the cool-ass strains of The Heavy's "Short Change Hero" and I know it's time for another season of Strike Back. For the completists, Season 3 is known in the United Kingdom as Strike Back: Shadow Warfare. To them British viewers, this Season 3 is actually Season 4 (or Series 4). Cinemax doesn't count the actual first season (that starred Richard Armitage) because the cable network didn't get involved with co-producing the show until Series 2 (which was then promptly re-labeled as Season 1).

Back on Track
I liked season one pretty much but season two seemed to drop off in the story department. Things were stretched pretty thin and were fleshed out with more action. Season three has gotten the series back on track.

Here's the scoop. A mid-eastern terrorist group has been working on a weapons version of smallpox. They have a team in place that will release this in various places and some huge number of people. So....it's up to section 20 to thwart the effort.

This has all the the earmarks of the first two season. Scott and Stonebridge in dicey situations. Down to the second saves. Heavy duty sex/nudity and Scott dropping the F bomb pretty much all the time. But here the plot is much more intricate. The Kamali character is still a mystery. Whose side is he on? And every time the near objective is close at hand, something (or someone) puts it out of reach so, of course, it will come down to a tight finish.

The plot moves at an even pace. The action scenes...
Strike Back Seaon 3

I have seen episodes on HBO and own seasons 1 and 2 and it is really an awesome series. When I first started viewing season one I had to buy it and season 2 and am waiting not patiently for the 3rd season. I have hundreds of DVD's but this show is my favorite of all. It is full of action, the scene locations are excellent, the actors are excellent and there are never a dull moment. I was and am very impressed with the story lines, the combat scenes and the detail used in armament and life like fire fights and the quality used in making the show. Absolutely well done and I give it 5 stars because I cannot rate it higher. I hope this review is helpful to you.
